About Laura Swan

I have long been a voracious reader and do not apologize for the stacks of books in my bedroom and office.

My long passion has been around restoring the voices and contributions of women to history and culture.

I've written several books on neglected aspects of women's history that have been translated into 12 languages, as well as on aspects of Benedictine spirituality (I am a Benedictine nun).

Yet I have a passion for justice and how an authentic spirituality addresses current justice issues.

I've released my first novel --The Hannah Document--that takes readers on an adventure into the world of ancient manuscripts, the voices of women in early Christianity with a startling conclusion.

I am a frequent speaker and workshop presenter.

Why Invite Laura Swan as a Guest?

I am told by past podcasters/interviewers that I am articulate with a sense of humor, that I tend to make connections between desperate topics that surprise audiences, and I tend to break any stereotypes of nuns. My nonfiction, especially The Forgotten Desert Mothers and The Wisdom of the Beguines, were the first to unearth these pieces of history with direct questions to our lives today. I'm still being contacted about these books. Unique: I've been blessed with opportunities to travel the world (not touristy hotspots) that informs my storytelling, and I'm a voracious reader.
