Cath Lloyd

Change maker, life coach and mentor helping you put your hand on your heart, release the burden to leave the drudge of the past behind you.

Female from Edinburgh, United kingdom and speaks English

Available for Collaboration, Interviews in Remote Formats

My target audience are those:
1. Who are starting to investigate implementing a big change in their life.
2. Perhaps going through a difficult and painful change in their life and are looking for guidance.
3. Who are ready to change and are looking for the right person to support them.
4. Who have been through a crisis, turbulent time, a trauma and haven’t been able to move on and find their new normal.

My work stems from being open and honest. This has come from many years of practising self-honesty to get back to basics to investigate the whys behind it all and how to find your way through the dark times so that you can get out the other side; release the burden you are carrying and leave the drudge of the past behind you.

Self-honesty was an important process for me after struggling for many years with my Dad’s decision to go through gender reassignment treatment. The process I went through however, helped me 30 years later when our son broke his neck and we all had to come to terms with his life altering injuries and finding our new normal as individuals and as a family.

I am looking for an audience that is ready for an honest, heart felt discussion about subjects that might be emotionally painful, close to the heart and thought provoking.

About Cath Lloyd

After 20 years struggling with my Dad's decision to change gender, I finally decided to put my hand on my heart, get back to basics and start being honest with myself and my why.

Why was I thinking and feeling the way I was when I loved and respected this human being in front of me?

It took me down a lot of dark alleyways, but I finally came out the other side and could feel the sunshine on my face and hear the birds again.

Learning and understanding my anxiety, stress, depression and with a lot of soul searching helped me 30 years later when our son broke his neck, leaving him a tetraplegic.

This is why I help people get back to basics so they can release the burden they are carrying and leave the drudge of the past behind them.

I use my posts, videos two books, "When Dad Became Joan", "4 Steps to Emotional Freedom", and TEDx Talk - 'Children of Transgender Parents Need Support Too', to reach as many people as I can, as well the personal life coaching support I offer.

I am also proud to be a wife, a mother and a dog owner.

Why Invite Cath Lloyd as a Guest?

I am not afraid to talk about difficult subjects and subjects that some might think should be off limits. After all, my Dad became Joan and my son broke his neck. Both these subject areas can cover a wide range of conversations, including bowels, bladder and skin. Like so many changes in life, we often have to go through the bereavement cycle of change and loss and the complex, negative emotions, thoughts and feelings that come hand in hand. I admit I am not the joker in the family, but I will make people smile, maybe cry, but certainly start connecting with their emotions. I have spoken on the TEDx stage and on many podcasts. I am now coaching one of my hosts, which is wonderful.
