About Christina Keys

Christina Keys — Family Caregiving Advocate, Speaker, Founder of Keys for Caregiving Christina Keys was living the American dream — a successful career, financial stability, travel, health, and happiness — until March 16, 2013, when everything changed.

Her mother suffered a life-altering stroke and was given a 1% chance of survival.

Overnight, Christina transitioned from career woman to full-time caregiver.

Within three years, Christina found herself financially, emotionally, mentally, and physically bankrupt.

Doctors warned she might not survive another six months if she continued at the same pace.

Faced with an impossible choice, she decided not just to survive, but to transform her life while caring for her mother — and to help other caregivers do the same.

Christina turned her personal struggle into a powerful mission: to ensure family caregivers everywhere feel seen, heard, valued, appreciated, and never alone.

She founded and led an award-winning nonprofit supporting family caregivers, served as Director of Community Growth for a national caregiving organization (building a team of nearly 150 caregiving champions across the U.

S.), and today is the Founder and CEO of Keys for Caregiving.

Christina is the creator of the Caregiver Recovery program, offering workshops, webinars, speaking engagements, and support groups to address life after caregiving ends — a critical but often overlooked transition.

From 2013 to 2022, Christina cared for her mother until her passing.

She now speaks nationally on topics such as family caregiving, caregiver recovery, caring for a former abuser, building caregiver communities, and advocating for systemic change for family caregivers.

Christina's message is simple but profound: Caregivers deserve care, too — and recovery is possible.

She has been featured on NBC, ABC, Netflix, Scripps Documentary and well as in The Washington Post, NPR, USA Today and many other publications.

She has been a guest on many Healthcare, Care Economy, caregiving, hospice, grief, and entrepreneurial podcast shows.
