Why Invite Chrystal Gilkes as a Guest?
I'm bubbly, friendly, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. I listen as well as I speak, so I'm not into cookie-cutter responses, I make sure I answer questions and bring experience relevant for the show's host...and audience. I've had an interesting career path, starting out as a nurse, working for many years in emergency departments and cardiac units. I then moved to medical device education for a global devices company, and then into sales for the same company. What a huge change of gear - and a big learning curve! This was during my near-10-year-stay in the UK. After returning home to Australia I moved to another global devices company, focused on being more clinical (turns out I had missed the patient contact....didn't see that coming!), which was another big learning curve, taking me into all manner of clinical settings from operating theatres topatient's homes. Then....I had kids. And, boy did my perspective on EVERYTHING change! 🤭 It was at this time that I reconnected with my passion for environmentalism, and doing all I can to protect this beautiful planet. So all that to say - my career hasn't been a straight line! But I've learned loads, and none of the skills I've picked up along the way are wasted in becoming an entrepreneur. Alignment between emergency nursing and being a startup co-founder....who knew?! 😂
