I’ve spent more than two decades working in public safety, investigations, leadership, and digital forensics. Today, I supervise a specialized digital forensics unit, where my work involves reconstructing events from phones, computers, digital records, and the evidence people leave behind.

But I’ve always been interested in the larger questions behind an investigation. What actually happened? What can the evidence prove? Why do people experiencing the same event construct different explanations of it? And what happens when the record contradicts the story we expected to find?

Those questions eventually took me beyond traditional investigations and into human behavior, leadership, technology, AI, systems, and individual agency. They also led me to write *The Execution Layer: Human Behavior at the Limits of Agency*, forthcoming February 2, 2027.

I enjoy conversations that challenge assumptions rather than simply reinforce them. Whether we're talking about a criminal investigation, what your phone knows about you, leadership failures, AI, human behavior, or the strange process of writing a book while working a full-time investigative career, I bring an investigator's perspective: separate the evidence from the explanation, then see where the record actually leads.
