About James Donaldson
I’m a former professional basketball player turned mental health advocate.
After graduating from Washington State University, I enjoyed a successful NBA career with teams like the Seattle Supersonics and Dallas Mavericks, where I was honored to be an All-Star in 1988.
My journey took me beyond the court, as I played in Europe and toured with the Harlem Globetrotters, but it was my personal struggles with mental health that truly shaped my mission today.
Now, I dedicate my time to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention through the Gift of Life Foundation.
In 2021, I published 'Celebrating Your Gift of Life,' sharing my story from the brink of despair to a life filled with purpose and joy.
I believe everyone can benefit from my experiences and insights, and I'm passionate about helping others find their path to healing.
