My work is based in thirty years as a performer, director and trainer of performers - helping people become fearlessly creative and connected. The skills of an actor - to connect and communicate - are essential human skills in every area of life.
I'm an idealist and want to inspire a lot more idealists.
Interests
About John Britton
For thirty years I traveled the world as director, teacher of performers, and physical performer.
I worked at every level from grass-roots to elite conservatory, across professional, community, educational and corporate work.
I worked in theatre, dance, circus, improvisation, clowning, education and things beyond all definition.
I worked on (almost) every continent.
I created my own approach to training people to work in ensemble/teams, (called Self-With-Others), and to training communication skills, (called What Actors Know).
I also wrote several books - about presence, connection and teaching workshops.
Now, from my house in remote Ireland, I coach, train and give speeches (online or in person).
I am committed to re-humanising the world, one conversation at a time.
These days, I paint a lot of pictures.

Why Invite me?
I listen as well as talk. I know a lot about a lot. I can make really complicated ideas clear and understandable. I'm great at digging out links between seemingly different things, helping people integrate ideas and experiences. I am REALLY interested in people, and want to know what makes you and your audience tick. I want to make the world a better place and will do what I can to be of service to your listeners. I tell good stories. I'm a deep thinker and usually come up with a number of 'a-ha' moments each interview. To be a good actor, you have to be a really highly-functioning human - inwardly and through collaboration.. Those are the skills I share.
