I heard Thriller before the rest of the world. I went golfing with Willie Nelson. I had dinner with Journey - and somehow I was the one asked for an autograph. I watched unknown artists become superstars and saw firsthand how radio, record stories and major labels could turn a song into a cultural phenomenon.

Now I'm telling those stories for the first time in my new memoir, Out of Control: Pop Music in the 70s and 80s.
