Pablo Colella is the Founder and Lead Consultant of Disconnected Bodies, an award-winning social enterprise working to improve access to arts, culture, and heritage through audience insight and cultural engagement. With over two decades of experience in the creative industries, Pablo has worked nationally and internationally to help organisations and artists better understand, reach, and grow their audiences.
His career is rooted in a self-starting, independent journey that began in the Black Country, building a path across multiple creative industries without traditional backing. He has previously been a Director of the record company Baby Jumps Records, worked in fashion branding, and gone on to become a TV Director and Producer for Channel 4. Each step of his journey has been self-funded and shaped by overcoming personal and professional challenges, experiences that continue to inform his work and the way he supports others navigating the creative sector today.
He is also the UK Ambassador for the Artist Run Alliance, further reflecting his commitment to supporting grassroots creative communities and artist-led practice.
His work sits at the intersection of creativity, strategy, and social impact; championing fairer access to the arts while challenging industry gatekeeping and amplifying underrepresented voices. Through Disconnected Bodies, he has contributed to national policy conversations and supported creatives and organisations in securing funding, developing audience strategies, and delivering meaningful cultural experiences.
He is also the creator of Sandbox, a ground-breaking audience engagement toolkit developed over his 20 years of research. Designed to go beyond traditional audience segmentation, Sandbox reveals the deeper psychology of how audiences think, behave, and engage; equipping creatives and organisations with the insight needed to build more meaningful, impactful cultural experiences.
As a speaker, consultant, and podcast host, Pablo is passionate about demystifying the creative industries; sharing practical insight on funding, audience engagement, and building sustainable creative careers. His work is driven by a simple belief: more people should have the opportunity to choose, create, and take part in brilliant arts experiences.
