About Trew Love

I am an artist and visionary based in Kansas City, the heart of the United States.

I began my career in makeup.

I worked professionally in Los Angeles on Hollywood red carpets, magazine covers, and New York Fashion week for Marc Jacobs, Philip Lim and more.

After 14 years, I transitioned from makeup to art, developing an illustrated makeup tutorial book called "Trew Basics".

As a fine artist, I have been shown across the nation at Art Basel Miami, Austin, New York, Los Angeles and Vegas alongside artists including Sheperd Fairey, Romero Britto, Risk and many more.

In 2017, I sprung into action to support the Indigenous people by joining Divest LA, an activist group that successfully pressured the LA city council to divest from Wells Fargo for funding the Dakota Access Pipeline.

This opened my world to the exploitation of big corporations, which was the inspiration behind my next collection.

In 2019, I created a 21 day street art scavenger hunt across Los Angeles to promote my "Sugar Coated" exhibit- a series of layered neon acrylic wall sculptures with clever descriptions designed to deliver hard truths with a bite of humor and bittersweet commentary.

As Covid hit, I developed multiple adult cartoon shows including Rhyme and Reeson, Sophisticats, and Chamille the Chameleon that use story and sharp humor to spotlight the strange nature of how we function as a society.

In 2022, I was invited to create a 8 ft tall heart sculpture for the citywide art walk, Parade of Hearts.

Next year, I will be releasing a concept called "What Would Love Say", a global artist initiative to turn our cities into sanctuaries by painting murals with Love messages all around the world to emphasize that while our symbols and sounds are different, we all love and heal the same.

Today, I am evolving my expressions to reflect my connection to God and my long and challenging journey of emotional healing that I hope will inspire those who are seeking greater Peace within themselves.

My Target Audience

My audience are those who seek for a deeper experience of life. Whether they have been through the healing process or are still stuck in the lower emotions, my artwork reflects my own journey of transformation and my story is their story- traversing the void to find the infinite.

Why Invite me?

My story is a twist of atypical adventure and deep internal turmoil that created a stark contrast that's intriguing and engaging to discuss. My story can inspire listeners to be courageous in approaching their inner and outer lives, and uplift them by demonstrating how grace and peace can be cultivated amidst a life riddled with conflicting complexities.
