I’m an education consultant based in the Netherlands, and I left the classroom myself before building a career out of the skills teaching gave me. Today I run a coaching practice that helps teachers move into entrepreneurial and alternative careers: consulting, training, EdTech, content, their own businesses. My clients are mostly in the US and UK, with a growing Dutch community, and I’m building a space for teachers who want to go entrepreneurial rather than just find the next job.

What makes my angle a bit different is the research. I’m doing a PhD at Leiden University on teacher attrition, specifically why early-career teachers leave, so I can talk about burnout and exit decisions with data as well as empathy. I also work as a curriculum and train-the-trainer designer on EU-funded projects, and I built Teacher First Aid, a small AI tool that gives teachers intervention ideas for tricky classroom situations. Both are examples of what a “teacher” skill set looks like once you take it outside a school.
