I was forced to start over at 55 in a new city after a life that didn't follow a clean or predictable path. I built experience in business, commercial printing, public affairs, political campaigns, communications, research, and nonprofit leadership, but I also spent parts of my professional life carrying a second, private world that pulled energy and attention away from the career I might otherwise have built. I don't regret every turn, but I do recognize that I lost some opportunities along the way. Starting over has made me more honest about what matters: using what I have learned to build useful work, tell important stories, and create a future on my own terms.

I have been fortunate to be married for more than 30 years to a beautiful woman, and together we raised two successful adult children. For 11 years, I coached high school athletes in three sports because I wanted to make a difference in young people’s lives. I saw dedication, talent, and resilience, but I also saw how often the system around them could fail them through politics, misplaced priorities, and a lack of real support. Coaching taught me patience, accountability, preparation, and how much one adult’s consistency can matter when a young person is trying to find their footing.

Today, I am doing this work because some stories were never meant to be told, or were made difficult to tell, and because silence can leave people without the context they need to understand their own lives. Through writing, documentary-style storytelling, and careful research, I am bringing forward stories from my life, my father’s life, and the larger world around them. They involve true crime, politics, hidden history, family secrets, questions about government, and unexplained experiences. I want to show people how things can really work behind the scenes, how power and institutions can affect ordinary lives, and how understanding those forces may help someone make better sense of their own experiences and choices.
