I’m Jo Anna Van Thuyne, an independent filmmaker, comedian, actor, and the creator and host of Apocalypse…Now? Since launching the podcast in 2017, I’ve handled the hosting, producing, and editing myself, exploring culture, politics, spirituality, and existential dread with a dark sense of humor.

I also created Mezza Morta, an independent web series that earned a Best Short award in 2019. My background includes long-form improv training at the Upright Citizens Brigade and years of making work outside the traditional gatekeeper system.

My perspective comes from doing the work: writing it, making it, putting it out, and figuring out how to keep going. I love talking about horror, comedy, creative independence, and the increasingly blurry line between political absurdity and a horror premise.
