I'm Kim Pomares, the CEO of Mendability.

When I was a kid I thought I would change the world by discovering the next cure for cancer (or something like that), but I can't handle blood, so I pivoted to international law, but then I realized power doesn't interest me, so then I thought, "what do I love doing when noone is watching?" I got a degree in Graphic Design and started a company.

Then my mother asked me for my help. Her private clinic was getting more and more government contracts and she felt my business experience with my graphic design company would be good. She had developed a method of stimulating brain development by translating the research done in the field of environmental enrichment into short, hands-on brain games families could do at home, and she was helping people with autism, alzheimer's, paralysis, etc.

I said, "sure mom, I'll help you get this organized and then I'll go back to Graphic Design..." That was more than 20 years ago now... There is just no comparison between giving hope to families and making pretty things, but both feed my drive to leave the world a better place. Since then, I've raised $4M to develop innovative, evidence-based approaches that enhance brain development and resilience.

I've been able to create beautiful things, make a dent in the universe and share one of the most powerful brain repair programs with the world all from the same spot. Not bad, eh! :-)
