Rebecca Madden is co-author, alongside her husband Dr. Jay Madden, of Breathless Haste: Finding God in Ordinary Life. In 1993, they welcomed their firstborn son, Brock, who was born with a heart defect. After six thriving months together, Brock underwent surgery to repair his heart and passed away seven days later. In the midst of that loss, Rebecca sensed God speak four simple words to her heart, "There is a heaven," words that became an anchor for her and Jay and eventually led them from the business world into more than twenty years of ministry.

Since then, they've learned to recognize God's presence not only in extraordinary moments, but in the ordinary ones too, from a McDonald's to a bankruptcy case, and wove those moments into thirty true stories in Breathless Haste. For the past seventeen years, Jay has served at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, where he currently serves as Executive Pastor. After fourteen years on staff at Peachtree, Rebecca recently stepped away from her role to devote more time to writing, speaking, and helping others recognize and respond to God's presence in their own lives.
