I'm Mark Brosnan, a passionate storyteller and broadcaster dedicated to sharing my lived experience with mental illness, suicide and suicidal ideation.

Mark is an expert in sharing his lived experience and a message of hope for a full life beyond mental illness. Mark shares his battles with self-stigma, his suicide attempts and his journey as a suicide prevention advocate.
Mark’s story with mental illness began in 2006. After 18 years working with people with disabilities, a series of assaults in the workplace caused Mark to suffer a breakdown and be diagnosed with CPTSD. Years into his recovery Mark shifted careers to Broadcasting. He worked as a professional radio presenter for 5 years. In that time, he interviewed over 500 world renowned celebrities, musicians, politicians, activists and public figures.
His first book, ‘Shattered the Book- Living with Mental Illness’, was published in 2022. His second book ‘BUMWIPER’ is available as of 2026 and his third book ‘SHOWNOTES’ is out now.
Since 2020 Mark has spoken at over 400 schools, universities and workplaces- including numerous sessions at the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Police Academy.
In 2022 Mark was honoured to be an ambassador for Mental Health Month ACT.
In 2023 Mark was nominated as Volunteer of the Year and was also a Finalist in the Westfield Local Hero program.
In 2025 Mark was an integral member a team that won a Mental Health Month award for Mentally Healthy Community Award and was recognised by ACT Volunteering in the Volunteering Awards.
