I've spent more than three decades telling stories that matter, which is a polite way of saying I've been a journalist for a very long time.

As a producer at NBC News, ABC News, and Frontline/PBS, and a contributor to The New York Times, I learned how to find the story beneath the story. I earned two Emmy Awards and two duPont-Columbia Awards along the way, got a master's from Columbia Journalism School, and eventually started teaching there too. Eventually I decided to build something of my own.

That something is MediaFeed, a content syndication and audience development studio premised on the idea that great content deserves to be found. In an era when AI systems are quietly deciding what information the world sees, that turns out to be a more complicated proposition than it used to be. MediaFeed helps brands, publishers, non-profits, and independent creators navigate it.

I also co-founded The Montclair Pod with Farnoosh Torabi, a weekly hyperlocal podcast covering the news, civic life, and occasional mysteries of Montclair, New Jersey. We won a 2025 Signal Award for Best Local News Podcast, and we may just have found a good and sustainable model for local journalism.
