About Jim Stramler
I've had two major goals in life.
Holding a fascination for the unknown, I wanted to understand the universe.
I also wanted to be a writer.
I worked my way through college as a lab technician.
After graduating from California State University, Los Angeles, I was awarded a fellowship for graduate school at the University of Houston where I obtained a Ph.
D.
After teaching at Texas A&M University for 3 years, I took a contractor position at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston to help develop a new laboratory.
Later, I accepted another contractor position in the Astronaut Office where I helped develop some components of the International Space Station.
My efforts provided better support to the astronaut crews on Space Station and won me two of NASA's highest awards.
While working at NASA, I authored a traditionally-published technical reference book, The Dictionary for Human Factors/Ergonomics.
After leaving NASA, I spend as much time as I can trying to integrate my two goals.
I've had two fiction books published so far.
- Sara and the Lonely Horse by Clavis, a children's picture book
- Spooky: Choices by White Bird, a YA novel
I'm currently developing a new website jimstramler.com to replace an older one.
