After losing my mother to an opioid overdose in 2019, my world changed forever. Her death forced me to ask hard questions about trauma, addiction, mental health, and why so many people fall through the cracks of the very systems designed to help them. I made a promise that her story wouldn't end with tragedy—and I've dedicated my life to keeping that promise.

I walked away from a decade-long career in education to become a trauma-informed mental health and substance use recovery professional. Since then, I've worked with individuals, families, and organizations to help people heal from the root causes of suffering, not just the symptoms. Along the way, I've founded my own company, developed the E.V.O.L.V.E. trauma-informed recovery framework, and continue advocating for a future where recovery is built on compassion, evidence, and human connection.

My journey hasn't been linear. While building this mission, I've also faced significant health challenges that ultimately led to disability. Those experiences have deepened my empathy, strengthened my resilience, and reinforced my belief that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and given the opportunity to heal.

Whether I'm speaking on a stage, consulting with organizations, or sharing my story, my goal is always the same: to challenge outdated thinking, inspire meaningful change, and remind people that healing is possible—even after unimaginable loss. If my story has taught me anything, it's that purpose isn't found in spite of adversity; it's often forged because of it.
