About Katie Light

My name is Kat Light, and I’m a survivor of sexual assault, an advocate for justice reform, and the founder of RapeIsRape.org.

In February 2024, I was raped by someone I once trusted.

He was my boyfriend and a Nevada state official The assault was caught on video.

Despite this, prosecutors in Nevada declined to file charges.

What followed was more than just a personal betrayal.

It was a stark example of how institutions silence survivors, minimize rape, and protect the people who commit it.

I created RapeIsRape.org to break that silence—not just mine, but everyone’s who has been pushed aside by a system that doesn’t want to believe us.

I’m now speaking out publicly and am available for podcast interviews to share my story, challenge the failures of law enforcement, and highlight the power of survivor-led advocacy.
