But much of my work today comes from something I've spent most of my life doing: starting over.

I immigrated to Canada from the Azores at ten without speaking English, entered technology without a traditional technical background, went through divorce and loss, rebuilt a failed SaaS product after losing my team, and at 38 was diagnosed with breast cancer while leading three technology companies.

Over time, I realized these weren't separate chapters. Every restart taught me something I carried into the next one. Adaptability, independence, courage, perspective, and the ability to keep moving even when I didn't feel ready.

Today, I speak and write about resilience, reinvention, leadership, entrepreneurship, and technology. At the centre of my work is a simple belief:

Starting over isn't failure. It's a skill.
We don't start from scratch. We carry forward everything our previous experiences have taught us.
