My interview with Ben was one of those rare, precious interviews that evolved deeply from that first intro. I pre-digested Ben’s amazing life and accomplishments, so I thought I was prepared. Not. Ben’s words, deeds, and journey are magnetic and surely the ingredients of a motion picture. I don’t say that often. Why? His father was a champion motorcycle racer. He’s a reggae and hip hop artist. A producer and author of ‘Rise and Climb: Finding Purpose Through Pain.” I started reading it. A warm, embracing style. He was talking to me. He’s into weight-lifting and exercise. I told him that he must have amazing telomeres. The tips of chromosomes. He personifies resilience, discipline, and reinvention. With all this, he reads for an hour every morning. A family man with a wife, son, and daughter. Loves basketball. Me too. Our commonality abounds. Truly, this was a five-star interview on Conversations with Calvin We the Species.
