After over thirty years in coaching, coach training, leadership development, and systemic work, I kept noticing a pattern I couldn’t ignore: capable individuals would gain insight, improve communication, and make sincere commitments to change. Then they would return to the same team, facing the same leadership pressures, unspoken loyalties, and culture.

After over thirty years in coaching, coach training, leadership development, and systemic work, I kept noticing a pattern I couldn’t ignore: capable individuals would gain insight, improve communication, and make sincere commitments to change. Then they would return to the same team, facing the same leadership pressures, unspoken loyalties, and culture.

And slowly, predictably, the old pattern would reassert itself.

That was the point when my work began to shift. I became less focused on asking, “How do we help this person behave better?” and more focused on asking, “What is this system organizing around that keeps producing the same result?”

I also started to see that much of coaching had reached a natural limit. Emotional Intelligence,
Powerful questions, communication skills, and personal awareness still matter, but many issues that leaders bring to coaching do not come from the individual level alone.

They originate from the systems to which those individuals belong. To me, that marks the next step in coaching, consulting, and leadership.

Systemic Intelligence does not replace Emotional Intelligence. It extends it. It helps coaches, consultants, and leaders move from interpersonal skills to systemic perception.

Systems thinking has a rich and broad knowledge base, but it often gets trapped in academic language or abstract theory. My work is to translate systemic principles into practical language, useful frameworks, and strategic actions that people can apply in real-world situations.
